Why is giving so important? It means inviting more blessing to come into your life. It is also an indication of expecting more blessings to be showered upon you. Giving is a sign of gratitude, of being grateful about your life. It is a manifestation that you have more than enough that’s why you want to help other people. One simple truth about life is that, the more you give the more you will receive. To cite an example, look at the life of so many successful people in the market. The reason why they are successful is not really because they’re smarter than the rest or because they’re better than someone. They have more because they have offered something to the world. They have given so much value that they get value in return. This is also true for the church perspective.
The United Medical Education is a great example of an organization that gives to the church. Through teaching life saving interventions such as CPR, best ACLS certification online, PALS certification, and BLS they are able to raise funds to support God’s work. Their ACLS certification online work is as important to saving lives as the church’s work is to saving souls.
A clear verse on the Bible indicates, 2 Corinthians 9:7 “Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he purposed in his head not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” What a wonderful verse to ponder unto. It simply tells us that by giving you allow yourself to become bigger and be ready to receive more blessings.
The principle of sowing and reaping should be at work always. This teaching has been speaking volumes in the Crusader Lutheran Church. It says on Genesis 8:22, “While the Earth remains, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease. There is a time for sowing and reaping.” However, when you give, it does not necessarily mean that immediately you will get something in return. You have to understand that there is time for everything. Farmers doesn’t immediately reap their crops, they wait till it’s ready. In the same way, you have to understand that when you give, it should be out of love and not just because you want something in return. You give because you know in your heart, that you are blessed.
Look around you, everything is giving and receiving. All that you see is about sowing and reaping. Even the flowers that bloom came from a seed that was sowed. Or the trees that grow, they all came from what was sowed. The Bible teaches us that giving is an act of worship. Giving is especially an act of showing your love to other people but sadly, nowadays we call that charity. In the Bible, there were a lot of verses, stories and content about giving and that at times, God uses other people to bless others. In the Crusader Lutheran Church, the act of giving is definitely encouraged.
Some people give because it just feels good. There are many reasons why people give, and one thing for sure is that, no act of kindness will ever be wasted. Whatever you give comes back to you.
